Charles Crispin: Experience carries over
General experience in one field can go a long way throughout one’s career. While Charles Crispin is a graduate of economics, his previous work in the care management industry helped him climb the corporate ladder in Evergreen Re, one of the largest healthcare reinsurance companies in the United States.
Before joining Evergreen in 1997, Charles ran Crispin Medical Marketing, a healthcare industry consultancy that he founded and later sold in 1993. The company was responsible for improving the account management, distribution, and marketing strategies of its client companies. He had also been part of an advertising firm, Crispin Porter Bogusky, where he had served as President until 1993. During his time, the advertising company had twice been named among the country’s top ten advertising firms, thus emerging as a dominant player from its regional origins.
During his tenure in Evergreen, Charles Crispin was responsible for the company’s strategic position and rapid growth. In his helm, Evergreen became the largest and most comprehensive broker of managed care reinsurance. Currently its Senior Vice President, Crispin had sold the firm to Brown & Brown and served as President until 2010.
Crispin has a deep understanding of managed care operations and healthcare economics and has used his knowledge to expand the firm by adding its first pharmacy consulting practice, Evergreen Rx.
Being able to carry over experience gained in one field and adapting them to another had helped Crispin not only make the jump from advertising to healthcare reinsurance but also help make those respective companies successful.
